Commercial Associate
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking a 2-5 PQE lawyer to join their established Commercial team based in central Reading. This is a permanent, hybrid role with two or three days in the office. The successful candidate will be involved in drafting and negotiating contracts, including commercial trading agreements, IT contracts, outsourcing, franchising, IP, manufacturing, and data protection.
About You: We are looking for someone with strong technical competence, intellectual ability, self-motivation, commercial awareness, good drafting skills, a keenness to learn, team player mentality, and excellent communication skills. Experience in local government projects is ideal.
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting and negotiating commercial contracts of various sizes and values
- Carrying out legal research and due diligence
- Guiding clients through commercial challenges
- Developing client relationships and ensuring solutions align with client aims
- Acting as an extension of clients' in-house legal teams
Requirements
- 2-5 years PQE in commercial law
- Strong technical competence
- Intellectual ability and commercial awareness
- Excellent drafting and communication skills
- Self-motivation and team player attitude
- Experience with local government projects is desirable
