About the Role
The Lecturer in Digital Media and Creative AI post offers a rare opportunity to shape teaching and research in one of the UK's most intellectually distinctive media programmes, at a moment of significant new investment. You will join the [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] School of Creative Arts, Culture and Communication, within the Film, Media and Journalism subject group.
You will contribute to teaching across BA Digital Media, MA AI and Creative Media, and MA Digital Media Culture, and play a key role in developing new curriculum at the intersection of AI and media practice. Additionally, you will contribute to the Centre for Creative AI, [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]'s Office for Students‑funded facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in digital media and creative AI.
- Develop new curriculum at the intersection of AI and media practice.
- Conduct and publish research in relevant fields.
- Contribute to the activities of the Centre for Creative AI.
- Engage in scholarly activities and support the academic community.
Person Specification
- PhD in a relevant field (media studies, digital media, cultural studies, film studies, digital humanities, journalism studies, design, or discipline with AI and creative practice).
- Demonstrable research engagement with generative AI and its implications for creative work or media practice.
- Familiarity with commercial and/or open‑source AI tools and creative software.
- Experience of teaching, training or facilitated learning in some context.
- Commitment to continued learning as the field evolves.
- Evidence of publications, practice‑based outputs, conference presentations or doctoral research.
Remuneration and Benefits
Salary: £44,247 rising to £60,858 per annum (Grade LLEC on the London Pay Scale). Benefits include a competitive salary and pension scheme, 31 days paid leave, flexible working arrangements, and being located in Euston, London.
