What You’ll Do
The Senior Product Manager for SQL User Experience is responsible for how humans and agents interact with data through SQL across modalities. This includes ownership of existing SQL IDEs, VS Code plugin, query services and natural language to SQL UX interactions. This role owns the end-to-end user experience of querying data — from first query to production workloads — ensuring that SQL remains powerful, intuitive, performant, and seamlessly integrated with emerging AI-driven and agentic capabilities.
- Define the vision for SQL UX across web-based query editors, native IDE integrations, CLI, API execution flows, and agent-driven query generation. Evolve SQL experiences to support AI-assisted query writing, debugging, optimization, and explanation.
- Natural language to SQL experiences, agent-assisted query generation and refinement, query explanation in plain language, guardrails and trust mechanisms, feedback loops for improving AI query quality.
- Ensure SQL UX is consistent and coherent across browser-based UI, notebook environments, agent interfaces, APIs, command line.
- Query progress visibility, resource consumption awareness, cost awareness, intelligent recommendations, failure recovery UX.
- Act as the product lead for UX, partnering closely with designers and content strategists to shape flows, structure, and interaction models.
- Serve as the primary point of coordination for design, content, and engineering for this area of ownership.
- Write clear product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria focused on user experience outcomes.
- Reduced time to first successful query, increased SQL editor adoption, measurable improvements in query success rates, increased usage of AI-assisted SQL capabilities, consistent SQL experience across UI, IDE, and agent interfaces.
