DevOps Engineer (Observability)

[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is hiring a DevOps Engineer to work on observability tooling across cloud platforms. This is a full-time, remote position based in Mexico.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage, configure, and support observability tooling for [Employer hidden]’s product offerings across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
  • Define, configure, and deploy monitoring to measure performance, scalability, reliability, and resiliency.
  • Build concise, impactful dashboards displaying infrastructure-level and application-level telemetry.
  • Monitor all layers of [Employer hidden]’s application stack.
  • Reduce mean-time-to-discover and mean-time-to-recover through improvements to observability tooling.

Who You’ll Work With

You’ll work closely with product engineering, cloud operations, security, and compliance teams. You’ll report to a Sr. Manager, Site Reliability Engineering.

What Makes You A Qualified Candidate

  • Experience with at least one major cloud service provider (AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud).
  • 2+ years of administrative-level experience with Grafana or equivalent.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform preferred).
  • Strong scripting skills with Python.
  • Experience with configuration management (Ansible or Puppet).
  • Experience with build/deployment automation (Jenkins or Bamboo).
  • Experience with Git and Jira.
  • Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience administering Linux-based systems.

What You’ll Bring

  • 3 to 4 years of DevOps or SRE experience.
  • Passion for constant improvement.
  • In-depth understanding of monitoring principles.
  • Understanding of enterprise software deployment and security/compliance.
  • Proficiency in multi-layered troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Flexibility to work on a globally-distributed team managed from the United States.
