About this role
Our sites are ever-demanding, complex and in some cases operate 24 hours a day - so it's vital we have a strong Engineering team who ensure our machines work to the best of their ability. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Manufacturing site. You will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and improvement of our machinery and equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on production equipment
- Respond promptly to machinery breakdowns, diagnose and repair
- Carry out machine adjustments and changeovers
- Monitor and calibrate equipment
- Collaborate with production teams for process improvement
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities
- Adhere to health and safety guidelines
- Stay updated with industry advancements
About you
- Qualifications to NVQ level 3 (or equivalent, ONC mechanical engineering, BTEC level 3 in mechanical)
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems used in FMCG industry
- Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery
- Proactive approach to maintenance
- Good understanding of HACCP principles and ideally IEE qualification up to 17th edition
- Excellent communication skills
- Assertiveness with ability to make decisions on the spot
- Can-do attitude and strong work ethic
