Pharmacy Dispensing Assistant

This is a permanent, full-time role (36.75 hours/week) with fully flexible shifts. You will dispense prescriptions, support OTC sales, and provide excellent customer service. Here at [Employer hidden] our Dispensing Assistants are responsible for:

  • Making sure patients receive a friendly, confidential and attentive service
  • Supporting (and helping control) Over The Counter (OTC) sales and stock replenishment
  • Labelling and dispensing of Prescription Only Medicines (POMs)
  • The safe hand out of prescriptions in line with pharmacy procedures
  • Helping resolve surgery queries
  • Reporting dispensing errors and near misses
  • Delivering a range of Pharmacy Services
  • Supporting the Pharmacy Team and Manager with the delivery of agreed KPIs

About you

You’ll be the kind of person who has:

  • Completed an approved Pharmacy Assistant training course (e.g. NPA Interact)
  • Completed an approved Pharmacy Dispensing Assistant course (e.g. NPA DAC - 1 year course)
  • Shows care and compassion for customers and is always helpful
  • Enthusiasm and commitment to deliver pharmacy services and KPIs
  • Ability to use own initiative to help resolution of customer queries
  • Comfortable working shifts and weekends where required
