About this role

As a Merchandiser within our GM team, you will ensure every category's range is best displayed for customers and store colleagues, whilst delivering both commercial and corporate strategies. You’ll help shape and execute departmental strategic planning to ensure intents, processes, and deliverables are optimised and aligned with the corporate agenda, delivering a best-in-class merchandising commercial support function.

  • Managing and developing a team of 6 to 7 direct reports, ensuring successful succession planning and competence on new systems.
  • Overseeing a portfolio of c.3000 plans across multiple trading areas and managing c.65,000 plan-to-store links to ensure alignment for c.500 stores weekly.
  • Governing and creating processes that ensure planogram delivery best fits all facets required for optimum in-store execution.
  • Defining and delivering the evolution of data analysis to allow proficient category support, insight, and development.
  • Creating and maintaining key cross-functional relationships with Trading, Supply Chain, Retail Ops, and Procurement to enable efficient output.
  • Delivering customer-centric planograms that realise category growth while optimising fixture space and replenishment processes.
  • Liaising with Central Retail Operations to ensure all in-store activity is executed excellently to minimise disruption and costs.

About you

  • Exceptional communication and influencing skills to generate confidence in colleagues at all levels.
  • Ability to analyse complex qualitative and quantitative data to safeguard category growth.
  • Extensive and current knowledge of the Retail industry and retail systems competence, including micro-space planning software.
  • Proven ability to manage projects, stakeholders, and deadlines in a large organisation across various formats.
  • Experience in the Retail sector with a record of managing macro and micro space changes.
  • A record of managing costs and working to a budget, specifically managing departmental costs with the Director.
  • Ability to motivate individuals and lead through change while managing team resources effectively for both structured and ad hoc projects.
