Key Production Operative - Abattoir

Hourly Paid (Manufacturing roles) | Competitive rates and benefits package | 37.5 hours per week | Permanent | Monday - Friday 6am - Finish

About this role

We're looking for Manufacturing Key Operatives at our manufacturing site working in our abattoir, preparing various duties such as machine operation, basic maintenance, Oracle and other system transactions, stock control and online quality checking, all in line with training.

Working at pace in a safe, efficient and hygienic manner, you'll perform a range of complex tasks. Safety is a top priority as you'll be working with equipment such as hand held trimmers with rotating blades, clippers, Materials Handling Equipment, Electric Pump Trucks, you'll be required to complete all relevant health and safety training to make sure that the safest work practices are adhered to.

About you

You'll be the kind of person who:

  • Is able to work in an abattoir environment
  • Can work in temperatures between 2-32 degrees, and in a noisy environment where hearing protection must be worn
  • Has some experience in a food manufacturing environment (desirable)
  • Is able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as chainmail gloves and maintain concentration when undertaking repetitive work
  • Is physically able to lift up to 2.5kg up to a height of 1.7m
  • Can complete and comply with relevant business and site policies such as Health and Safety and Food Safety
