About the role

As a Social Media Volunteer, you will help share what’s happening at [Employer hidden] by creating and supporting social media content that reflects our community, activities, and impact. This role is a great opportunity for young people or students who enjoy social media, creativity, and storytelling, and want to build experience in communications, marketing, or digital media. No previous volunteering or professional experience is needed, just enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.

What’s involved?

  • Helping create social media content such as posts, stories, photos, and short videos
  • Supporting the promotion of events, activities, and community projects
  • Sharing ideas for content that will engage young people and the wider community
  • Assisting with scheduling posts and keeping content up to date
  • Learning how to follow brand guidelines, safeguarding, and consent processes
  • Working with staff to ensure content is positive, inclusive, and appropriate

This role is ideal for young people or students who are:

  • Interested in social media, digital content, marketing, or communications
  • Creative and confident using platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok
  • Keen to gain experience and develop new skills
  • Reliable, respectful, and open to feedback
  • Passionate about making a positive difference in their local community

Time commitment

Flexible to fit around school, college, or university commitments. Around 1–3 hours per week, depending on agreed tasks. Some tasks can be completed remotely, with occasional on-site support.
