Job Summary

Hours: 32.5 hours per week. Reporting to Year Group Leader. Start Date September 2026. Specific areas of responsibility include Teaching and Learning, Classroom Management, Assessment, and Subject Leadership. Also involvement in wider school contribution, safeguarding, and generic responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Teaching and Learning:

  • Promote school ethos and positive attitudes
  • Use school schemes of work and curriculum documentation
  • Differentiate activities to meet all pupils' needs
  • Implement teaching and learning policies
  • Ensure pupil progress towards national standards
  • Provide a secure learning environment
  • Monitor and track pupil progress

Classroom Management:

  • Set high expectations for behaviour
  • Build positive relationships
  • Maintain an orderly classroom environment
  • Organise resources for independent learning

Assessment:

  • Use assessment for learning strategies
  • Conduct and use assessments to track progress
  • Develop and review Individual Action Plans

Subject Leadership: Includes reviewing curriculum policy, monitoring planning, observing teaching, evaluating assessment information, coordinating resources, and reporting on progress.
