Senior Consultant - Data Strategy & Governance

[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is seeking a Senior Consultant in London in Technology & Data to help take vision to value and create lasting impact. This role focuses on Data Governance and Strategy, working with clients to establish robust data frameworks.

Location: London | Employment Type: New Hire (FTE UK) | Career Level: Experienced

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement data governance frameworks, operating models, and data strategies aligned to business goals.
  • Advise clients on creation and execution of enterprise-wide data strategies, including stewardship, ownership, and accountability.
  • Develop and enforce data quality standards and monitoring processes.
  • Establish and maintain data lineage, metadata management, and taxonomy practices.
  • Define and manage taxonomies and data classification schemes.
  • Advise clients on regulatory compliance and best practices in data management.
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement and change management for data initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in computer science, computer engineering, data engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years experience in data engineering, including ETL, data pipelines, and data storage solutions, with 2+ years leading projects.
  • Extensive experience with cloud platforms and relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics, Google Professional Data Engineer, Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate).
  • Knowledge of data governance principles and best practices.
  • Experience with data visualisation tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker) and enterprise dashboards.
  • Experience with AI/ML integration in data solutions and AI governance frameworks.
  • Ability to translate data insights to business value and communicate to executives.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a hybrid environment.
  • Travel: up to 50% as needed.
