VersaDock Sales Manager

[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] Ltd is a subsidiary of Berthon. Its product range is VersaDock pontoons, jetties, rafts, platforms, drive-on docks, swim platforms, VersaDock Air inflatable rafts, HarborHoist air berths, & dock boxes.

We seek a Sales Manager for this successful Lymington-based marine business which owns, manufactures and sells the brilliant, robust and simple VersaDock, and also represents other marine berthing systems. We want to build on existing success and grow sales in the UK and worldwide, in the leisure, commercial and defence sectors.

The ideal candidate is experienced in business development, and will explore new business opportunities with existing customers and find new clients.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Manage sales, operations, installations, & servicing
  • Grow product sales in UK
  • Customer quoting
  • Technical proposals
  • Tenders
  • Develop & grow a global dealer network
  • Develop after-sales servicing activity
  • Work closely with key suppliers to achieve maximum sales growth & profitability
  • Develop and implement a marketing strategy
  • Organise and attend exhibitions & boat shows
  • Annual sales forecasts, budgets, cash flow
  • Profitability analysis of installations & servicing
  • Identify problems early
  • Improve efficiency and performance
  • Collaborate internally, group-wide and externally
  • Regular reporting
  • Strategic decisions
  • Regular input to the directors (status of key projects, chance of conversion to orders, feedback about market trends, competitor activity)

Experience and Skills

  • Marine background
  • Sales experience in leisure, commercial & defence
  • Negotiation
  • Technical sales
  • Track record in developing & managing international dealer network
  • Competent & experienced in formulating sales proposals, technical writing & tender responses
  • Strong communication ability
  • Customer service skills
  • Financial acumen
  • Computer literate – Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel, & Epicor ERP
  • Full UK driving license
  • UK passport for SC clearance
