[Employer hidden] Hospital Ty Cwm Rhondda is looking to recruit a Mental Health Nurse to join the team. This is a full time 37.5 hours role. Based in picturesque South Wales, [Employer hidden] Hospital Ty Cwm Rhondda is a low secure mental health facility offering high quality assessment, treatment and rehabilitation services for males with complex mental health needs.

What you'll be doing
You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients. As a Staff Nurse you will be working within a team that includes a range of professionals.
- You will be central to providing high quality care within a locked, specialised mental health low secure and rehabilitation and recovery setting. The patient group consists of Personality Disordered Learning Disability and Autism, Enduring Mental Illness.
- You will work within an identified career development pathway and be expected to complete appropriate competency development portfolio.
- You will be responsible for deputising in the absence of the charge nurse if necessary and therefore must demonstrate a willingness to develop and expand on their existing roles and responsibilities.

What you'll bring to the role
Our work is rewarding but can be challenging, so resilience is key. No two days are the same! Your natural empathy will help you support others through both the highs and lows. The ideal candidate will be a qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with an active NMC registration, 6 to 12 months’ post-registration experience, and completion of a preceptorship programme. They will have knowledge of NMC guidelines, requirements, and professional practices, along with evidence of post-registration continuing professional development. The candidate will demonstrate a positive attitude, a commitment to change, improvement, and quality, and the ability to develop and use flexible, innovative approaches to practice. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. They will have a minimum of 6 months’ post-registration experience within a mental health or learning disabilities care environment, with evidence of continued professional development in a relevant field.
