P&C Liability Property Damage Adjuster

Davies Claims North America is looking for a Liability Property Damage Adjuster to join our team. Reporting to the TPA/P&C Manager, you will adjust first- and third-party property damage claims in a timely, accurate, and professional manner. To be successful, you must have high level attention to detail and problem-solving skills, superior time management skills, and superb communication skills. You must have at least one year of adjusting experience, as well as a bachelor’s degree or three or more years of equivalent work experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review new assignments within 24 hours of assignment and completion of the Plan of Action
  • Contact the Insured or Claimant within 24 hours of assignment
  • Assign appraisers or coordinate the receipt of damage estimates according to the client guidelines or approval
  • Determine if estimates or appraisals are appropriate based upon reported damages and other evidence
  • Gather evidence of damages, set, and adjust reserve amount appropriately
  • Interview the Claimant, Insured, and/or witnesses as necessary
  • Evaluate the facts and law to determine liability and the amounts owed
  • Daily review of workflow and claim system reminders with follow-up
  • Request payment authorization according to client guidelines and Davies Claims North America policy
  • Follow client guidelines for any claim denial
  • Obtain internal investigation reports from the Insured when permitted by the client
  • Determine degree of Attorney involvement, if necessary
  • Always act with utmost good faith
  • Set reminders within the claim system for necessary follow-up
  • Accurately record any communication or activity relevant to the claim
  • Follow branch procedures to image documents
  • Meet Continuing Education requirements for licensure
  • Maintain a 95% claim closure ratio
  • Report to Excess Carrier on qualifying claims
  • Notify supervisor and client of Summons and Complaint
  • Read and understand Excess Carrier Insurance Policy
  • Develop working knowledge of Loss of Business Income and Extra Expense
  • Check for Claimant’s compliance with F.S. 768.28 Sovereign Immunity
  • Evaluate for subrogation opportunities and possible fraud
  • Identify and pursue subrogation, contribution, indemnification
  • Assist others as called upon by Claims Supervisor
  • For Third-Party Vehicle Damage claims: interview insured driver
  • For Third-Party Vehicle Damage claims: determine injury status
  • For Third-Party Vehicle Damage claims: obtain recorded statement if injury
  • For Third-Party Vehicle Damage claims: obtain Certificate of Destruction
  • For Third-Party Vehicle Damage claims: verify ownership
  • For Third-Party Vehicle Damage claims: arrange vehicle removal
  • For Third-Party Vehicle Damage claims: interact with other insurance adjusters
  • For Third-Party Vehicle Damage claims: send subrogation paperwork
  • For Third-Party Vehicle Damage claims: check for lien holders
  • Exhibit company values
  • Perform other duties as assigned
