Senior Underwriting Performance Associate

The Senior Underwriting Performance Analyst plays a critical role in overseeing and managing underwriting performance across [Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk]’s client portfolio. Reporting to the Underwriting Performance Manager and working collaboratively within the Underwriting Performance Team, this individual provides high-quality analytical insights, supports business planning processes, and contributes to regulatory reporting. These activities help ensure that all clients comply with a robust underwriting management framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Underwriting Performance Manager by providing analytical insights, monitoring the performance of [Employer hidden] clients against key performance indicators, coordinating planning submissions, and facilitating interactions with clients and Lloyd’s.
  • Perform comprehensive analyses of underwriting performance for [Employer hidden]’s managed clients, evaluating variances from planned results and identifying significant trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Act as a day‑to‑day point of contact for operational and analytical requests from [Employer hidden] clients and Lloyd's. Support relationship management with Lloyd’s by preparing materials, tracking queries, and providing background analysis ahead of meetings.
  • Support the coordination and delivery of the Lloyd’s business planning process across a defined portfolio of syndicates. Validate submissions, ensure completeness, accuracy, and alignment with Lloyd’s requirements. Assist in drafting narrative components, performance summaries, and data explanations.
  • Prepare monitoring packs, dashboards, and data insights for portfolio oversight. Collaborate with MI & Analytics to improve reporting quality, templates, and automation.
  • Assist in producing regulatory underwriting returns for Lloyd’s, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and timely submission. Liaise with clients to gather inputs, address queries, and ensure compliance.
  • Participate in relevant meetings for [Employer hidden] and managed clients, assuming responsibilities for the Underwriting Performance Manager when necessary.
  • Contribute analytical expertise to internal projects, working groups, and requests relating to underwriting performance or Lloyd’s market changes.
  • Validate and oversee analysts and assistants as needed. Share best practices and support technical skill development across the team.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • 3+ years’ experience in Insurance, ideally in underwriting, actuarial, finance, operations or related fields.
  • Understanding of how a Lloyd’s syndicate operates within the market and as part of a managing agency; good commercial knowledge of the Lloyd’s market.
  • IT literate; Excel skills requisite, with a natural ability to pick up new systems quickly.
