[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is seeking a Regulatory Counsel based in London, Paris, or Singapore. This is a full-time, on-site role in the Legal department.

Role

As Regulatory Counsel, you will report to the Director of Regulatory Affairs and do a broad range of work, including new product launches, expansion into new markets and ongoing regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on the legal and regulatory aspects of new product launches and existing product development
  • Work cross-functionally with the product, compliance, finance and infosec teams to tackle day to day regulatory challenges and ensure ongoing regulatory compliance
  • Collaborate with and support the rest of the legal team to identify, evaluate and discuss risks and develop creative solutions to bridge business priorities in a changing regulatory landscape
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop actionable solutions with respect to regulatory or licensing matters
  • Lead engagement with regulators
  • Support license applications for new market entries with legal expertise, and own ongoing regulatory matters across all live markets

Requirements

  • You are a qualified lawyer with 5 to 10 years of practicing experience in payments or other regulated business
  • You've worked in house, gaining relevant fintech experience, ideally in a payments or fintech environment
  • You understand and can navigate the regulatory frameworks governing financial products and services
  • You have a strong sense of initiative, independence and ability to take ownership
  • Extra points if you have experience working in APAC markets, though not required
