[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] - MOC Engineer - Luton, UK - On-site - Permanent - Full-time

About the Role

At [Employer hidden], our Engineers are vital to keeping our aircraft – and our customers – moving safely and smoothly. From day one, you’ll be part of a skilled global team, supporting operations across our network and helping to ensure every aircraft is ready to fly on time and to the highest standards. You’ll work closely with engineers, flight crews and ground teams, making smart decisions in fast-paced environments.

This is not a typical line maintenance role. As an MOC Engineer, you will be at the heart of the operation — making real-time decisions that directly impact aircraft availability and the flying programme across the [Employer hidden] Group. You’ll provide critical technical leadership on a 24/7/365 basis, ensuring safe, efficient, and timely operations across our global fleet. This is a shift-based role working 12-hour shifts (2 days, 2 nights, 4 off).

About the Job

  • Provide real-time technical support and troubleshooting guidance to Flight Crew and engineers across the global network
  • Lead defect management calls with line stations and third-party providers, ensuring clear operational visibility
  • Proactively manage Deferred Defects and maintenance activity to protect aircraft availability
  • Work closely with Flight Operations and Base Maintenance to maintain fleet readiness and minimise disruption
  • Coordinate worldwide Line Maintenance activities, acting as the central point of control for engineering operations
  • Take ownership of AOG situations, driving recovery plans and directing resolution across multiple stakeholders
  • Act as the key interface between Line Maintenance, Part M, and support departments on airworthiness matters
  • Liaise directly with OEMs including Boeing and component manufacturers on complex technical issues
  • Analyse component trends and drive effective troubleshooting strategies
  • Optimise maintenance planning through effective use of the MEL
  • Provide hands-on operational support where required
  • Deputise for the MOC Duty Manager when needed

About You

  • Hold a valid CAA / EASA B1 or B2 Licence
  • Completed a recognised Aircraft Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent
  • Strong experience in AOG recovery and operational decision-making
  • Confident working in a fast-paced, high-pressure operational environment
  • Solid working knowledge of AMOS and maintenance planning systems
  • A problem-solver who can think logically and make sound decisions quickly
  • Strong communicator, able to translate complex technical issues across teams
  • Able to balance operational priorities with commercial impact (e.g. delay costs)
  • Organised, adaptable, and confident managing multiple priorities
  • Willing to travel at short notice to support operational requirements
