Graduate Teaching Assistant - Accounting & Finance
The [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] seeks a Graduate Teaching Assistant to contribute to undergraduate teaching, assessment, and administrative duties in the Adam Smith Business School. Responsibilities include delivering teaching, marking, providing feedback, using learning technologies like Moodle, supervising projects, and engaging in professional development. Candidates must hold an Honours degree in a relevant subject and preferably a teaching qualification. The role is offered on a fractional, fixed-term basis at Grade 6 (£33,951 - £37,694 pro rata).
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Contribute to the planning, organisation and delivery of undergraduate teaching.
- Deliver a range of teaching and assessment activities.
- Participate in course administration, marking, and timely constructive feedback.
- Assist with development of teaching materials.
- Contribute to effective use of learning technologies including Moodle.
- Apply specialist knowledge to inclusive teaching.
- Participate in assessment processes including oral assessment.
- Supervise student projects and dissertations.
- Engage in continuing professional development.
- Undertake other duties as required.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- A1: SCQF Level 10 Honours degree in a relevant subject or cognate discipline.
- A2: Professional teaching qualification or working towards one.
- A3: Specialist theoretical and practical knowledge of the subject.
- C1: Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- C2: Ability to accept collegiate responsibilities.
- E1: Relevant experience of teaching.
- E2: Excellent communication skills.
- E3: Relevant administrative experience.
Terms and Conditions
Salary: Grade 6, £33,951 - £37,694 per annum pro rata. This post is offered on a fractional basis and is fixed term.
