The Role

To provide responsive, high-quality onsite technical support across the University estate. The IT Field Services Engineer is responsible for delivering a high level of 1st line technical support with a specific focus on achieving 'first-time fixes' for hardware, software, and peripheral issues. The role involves rapid deployment to user locations to troubleshoot desktop technology, mobile gadgets, and AV equipment, and other group technology areas ensuring minimal downtime for staff and students. This role is Based in Greenwich.

Our Successful Candidate

We’re looking for an experienced 1st Line Support professional with a strong background in desk-side or field support, capable of resolving complex issues independently. The role requires deep technical knowledge of modern peripherals, including USB‑C docks, Bluetooth devices, and AV interfaces, alongside solid experience supporting Windows and Apple operating systems in a networked environment. You’ll be confident stripping down and replacing hardware components in laptops and desktops, and excel in face‑to‑face communication, reassuring users under pressure while working on their equipment. Strong self‑management skills are essential, with the ability to prioritise workload and manage time effectively when moving between sites.
