[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is hiring a Research Scientist in Norwich, UK. Full-time, on-site position until 31 March 2027. Salary: £37,500 to £40,600 per annum. Applications close 07 April 2026.

The Role

The Research Scientist will work on the EB-MIND consortium project studying bacterial responses to metal stress within the [Employer hidden] Microbes and Food Safety programme. The postholder will apply transposon mutagenesis and TraDIS-Xpress to engineer bacteria for improved metal recovery, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team.

The Ideal Candidate

  • PhD in microbiology or related discipline
  • Experience with Omic data and environmental microbes
  • Molecular genetics experience
  • Knowledge of transposon mutagenesis (desirable)
  • Some bioinformatics experience (training provided)
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

Additional Information
