[Employer hidden] is seeking an established scientific leader to serve as Chair of its Board of Trustees. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the Board during a phase of significant growth and global impact. The role requires 15-20 days per annum and involves working closely with the Institute Director and Board to ensure the effective delivery of QIB's mission.
About the Institute
The Quadram Institute is at the forefront of the interface between food science, gut biology and health. Situated in Norwich Research Park, the Institute combines clinical research from Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital with scientific expertise in food, nutrition, and health. [Employer hidden] is strategically supported by BBSRC, UEA, and NNUH.
Role and Responsibilities
- Lead the Board of Trustees to ensure effective delivery of QIB's mission and financial sustainability.
- Foster constructive relationships with Trustees, the Institute Director, and the Executive Board.
- Act as a key ambassador, representing the Quadram Institute nationally and internationally.
- Build and maintain relationships with UK Government, UKRI, and other stakeholders.
Candidate Requirements
- Established scientific leader with proven Chair experience at a similar scale and complexity.
- Understanding of the UK research funding environment.
- Experience of commercial research.
- Demonstrable experience of engaging with and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Experience of following the Charity Governance Code or equivalent.
- Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
- Capacity to commit 15-20 days per annum.
