Group Leader (Microbes and Food Safety)

The [Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] seeks an exceptional scientist to lead research on bacterial foodborne pathogens and microbial spoilage. Based in Norwich, this full-time (or part-time) role offers a significant support package.

About the Role

You will join other world class Principal Investigators and research scientists within the Microbes and Food Safety research programme at the [Employer hidden]. The priorities are to reduce enduring and emerging microbial threats to the safety of UK food supplies. Our team has expertise in imaging, microbiology, genomics, bioinformatics and mathematical modelling.

  • What and where are the microbial threats in the food chain?
  • What are the mechanisms of survival of microbial threats?
  • How can we use this information to improve food safety and reduce food waste?

Candidate Profile

Applicants should have an excellent track record in research addressing key strategic aims of the programme, a strong publication record, potential for attracting funding, and a clear vision for collaborative research.

What We Offer

The successful applicant will be offered an indefinite contract (or Career Track for less experienced candidates). The package includes a Postdoctoral Research Assistant, budget for consumables, access to core services, competitive salary, and a relocation package.
