Laboratory Technician

Salary: £26,600 to £32,800 per annum (Full-time, 16-month contract)

The Role

We're looking for a Laboratory Technician to join the Laboratory of Dr Stephen Robinson in the Gut Microbes and Health programme at [Employer hidden]. The role involves health monitoring and genotyping of mouse colonies, with opportunity to develop skills in management of large mouse colonies and in vivo experimental setup, data analysis and presentation.

The Ideal Candidate

  • BSc or equivalent in a relevant scientific subject
  • Previous laboratory experience
  • Knowledge of mammalian genetics and cell biology methodologies including nucleic acid and protein extraction and PCR
  • Experience handling human biological samples
  • Excellent record keeping and time management skills

Additional Information

Salary on appointment will be within the range £26,600 to £32,800 per annum depending on qualifications and experience. This is a full-time post for a contract of 16 months.
