Laboratory Technician
[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join the Technical Support Team. This part-time role (13 hours/week) is based in Norwich, UK.
The Role
The post holder will provide high standard technical support to academic and research staff in the [Employer hidden], maintaining working areas following protocols and good laboratory practice to support the 'Food Structure and Bioaccessibility Facility'. Duties include analysis of food samples (metabolic analysis, biophysical analysis, particle size distribution measurements, texture analysis), supporting in vitro digestion and fermentation experiments, maintaining and calibrating equipment, liaising with the Lab Manager, writing standard operating procedures, and training staff. The post holder will work flexibly, possibly including out of hours/weekend work.
The Ideal Candidate
Candidates should have at least a BSc in Biochemistry, Food Science, Chemistry or related field (MSc advantageous). Essential: organised, attention to detail, independent working, excellent team working and communication skills, recent experience in a multiuser biological research laboratory, and experience with quality control processes and reporting.
Additional Information
Salary £27,750 to £34,500 pro rata depending on qualifications and experience. Part-time 13 hours per week, contract 32 months. This role meets criteria for a visa application.
