Director of Operations

This is an exciting time to join the [Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] (QI), that is at the forefront of a new interface between food science, gut biology and health. This role play will play a pivotal role in in the institute’s development.

QI is housed in a new £75 million purpose-built building with state-of-the-art research laboratories, Clinical Research Facility and one of Europe’s largest endoscopy centres. The institute brings together interdisciplinary teams of international experts and organisations to address major issues. The QI develops solutions to worldwide challenges and understand the ways in which food and the microbiota of the gut are linked to the promotion of good health and the prevention of disease.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced senior leader who will be responsible for the oversight of facilities and the provision of scientific services to enable the Partner Organisations to deliver their scientific vision. The successful candidate will lead on a substantial and varied range of management activities requiring outstanding senior leadership experience involving managing complex multifunctional and organisational relationships.

Requirements

  • A strong academic background, with a relevant Ph.D.
  • A proven track record and excellent operational skills
  • Ability to manage the reporting cycles effectively
  • Experienced with UK based Health & Safety
  • Experience with financial management and grant funding
  • Outstanding people management skills
