Chief Operating Officer

[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is recruiting a Chief Operating Officer to lead operations at their Norwich research facility.

About the Role

The [Employer hidden] (QI) is a research institute at the forefront of the interface between food science, gut biology and health. Its mission is to deliver healthier lives through innovation in gut health, microbiology and food. A partnership between [Employer hidden] Bioscience, the University of East Anglia, the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital and BBSRC, it brings together scientists and clinicians in a state-of-the-art building on the Norwich Research Park.

QIB is at an exciting stage of its development and is now looking to appoint a new Chief Operating Officer (COO). Reporting to the QI Director, the COO is responsible for the design, operation and delivery of QI operations and scientific services. The postholder will work closely with the QI Director and the QI Management Board to deliver the operational strategy which is critical to the success of the Institute.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading, coordinating and ensuring efficient delivery of operational activities
  • Ensuring smooth running of the Institute
  • Managing Facilities Management, Lab Management, and Health and Safety
  • Operating in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders
  • Managing a substantial and varied workload, delivering projects, negotiating, and resolving problems

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will have knowledge and understanding of scientific research and senior leadership experience in a relevant setting. The postholder will have demonstrable ability to manage, support and motivate teams ensuring the highest levels of performance are achieved.

Location and Benefits
