FULL DESCRIPTION

Laboratory Technician

[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is hiring a Laboratory Technician. Salary: £26,600 to £32,800 per annum. Contract: Part-time, 12 months. Location: Norwich Research Park, Norwich.

The Role

The Laboratory Technician will join a project focused on understanding how specific endothelial cell receptors mediate these processes. They will carry out health monitoring and genotyping of mouse colonies. In this role, the post holder will have the opportunity to develop their skills in the management of large, complex mouse colonies. As well as developing a basic understanding of in vivo experimental setup, data analyses and presentation.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Studying for a BSc or equivalent in a scientific subject
  • Previous experience of working in a laboratory
  • Knowledge and understanding of mammalian genetics and cell biology methodologies including nucleic acid and protein extraction and further analysis by PCR
  • Excellent record keeping and time management skills

Additional Information

Salary on appointment will be within the range £26,600 to £32,800 per annum depending on qualifications and experience. This is a part-time post for a contract of 12 months.
