About the Fellowship
The [Employer hidden] has created an exciting opportunity for early career researchers to join a new fellowship scheme aiming to help individuals become future leaders within food/microbes/health research. The Early Career Fellowships provide medium-term support (36 months) to outstanding early career scientists, enabling them to apply for more ambitious 5-year fellowship programmes (e.g., from UKRI, Wellcome Trust, ERC). Up to three fellows will be supported per year.
Objectives
- Initiate an independent research programme at QIB and generate preliminary data to support a longer-term fellowship application.
- Receive mentorship in research strategy, scientific writing, and networking skills.
- Develop and submit fellowship applications to major funders.
Eligibility and Application
Applicants must propose research within the QIB science remit. Submit a single document comprising: (i) cover letter, (ii) full CV and publication list, (iii) a research proposal (2 pages) detailing short and long-term vision and strategic goals, including how research will contribute to the Quadram Institute.
Assessment criteria include track record, commitment and potential to develop as a future leader, quality of research proposal, training opportunities, and career benefit.
Additional Information
- Salary: £42,000 - £54,000 per annum.
- Fixed-term contract for 3 years. No guarantee of future employment.
- Access to £10k per annum budget and all QIB facilities.
