Job Description

Applications are invited for a Sequencing Project Scientist to join the Science Operations Programme at [Employer hidden] (QIB), based in Norwich, UK. The core Sequencing group at QIB is headed by Dave Baker and supports all sequencing activities. The successful applicant will work with state-of-the-art DNA Sequencing technologies supporting Quadram Institute core Sequencing researching gut health and microbes in the food chain. They will assist core DNA sequencing by undertaking library preparation for sequencing of individual bacteria as well as for metagenomics of complex microbial communities.

Ideal Candidate

  • Educated to degree level
  • Knowledge of high throughput PCR set-up or equivalent
  • Experience of DNA and RNA handling
  • Ability to independently carry out laboratory work
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills

Additional Information

Salary on appointment will be within the range £25,315 to £30,785 per annum depending on qualifications and experience. This is a full-time post for a contract of 2 years with possibility for extension.
