Factory QC Shift Leader - 12 Month FTC at [Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk]

[Employer hidden] is a dog food subscription company creating tailored meals. We are seeking a passionate QC Shift Leader for a 12-month maternity cover contract at our East Midlands Gateway factory. This role is on-site, with alternating weekly shifts (6am–2pm and 2pm–10pm). Salary: £31,500 per year.

The Role

You will lead QC operations, investigate issues, coordinate sampling, drive continuous improvement, and collaborate across teams to uphold quality and food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead QC Operations: Oversee quality checks from goods-in to final product, ensuring compliance with SOPs.
  • Investigate & Resolve Issues: Manage complaints, non-conformances, and Q&FS incidents.
  • Sampling & Testing: Coordinate product, environmental, and water sampling.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Lead GMP and glass/plastic inspections, monitor hygiene, support pest control.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with Production, Technical, and Supply Chain teams.

What You'll Bring

  • Proven QA/QC experience in food manufacturing or regulated production.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards, GMP, and root cause analysis.
  • Leadership skills to train and inspire a team.
  • Proactive, solution-focused approach with excellent communication.
  • Ability to use Google Sheets, Docs, Slides, and Email.
