Research Scientist

Background

The Food Databanks and National Capability (FDNC) at the [Employer hidden] (QIB) compiles and publishes data on food composition in the UK. The Hall lab focuses on host-gut microbiota interactions.

The Role

The post holder will lead a human dietary intervention study testing effects of a bioactive-rich diet on gut microbiome diversity and glucose metabolism. Responsibilities include ethical review preparation, participant recruitment, sample collection and analysis, and report drafting.

Ideal Candidate

  • PhD in Biological Sciences
  • Experience in laboratory-based diet/health or microbiology research
  • Experience coordinating human intervention studies preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and organisational skills
