Job Description
Applications are invited for a Senior Research Scientist to join the Food Databanks National Capability (FDNC) at the [Employer hidden] (QIB). FDNC generates, uses and provides data on the composition of foods eaten in the UK which underpins food, nutrition, health research and policy. The role involves supporting an EIT Food-funded project delivering a digital platform supporting personalised nutrition services in Europe. Main duties include project management and dissemination, liaison with partners and external collaborators, organising meetings and workshops. Depending on background, the candidate will contribute to business development, governance, creation of a scientific advisory board, and development of datasets and knowledge rules.
Requirements
- Background in food, nutrition and health research with project management experience, ideally in EU-funded projects.
- MSc or BSc (or equivalent) in nutrition or food science or a related field.
- Outstanding personal initiative and communication skills.
- Previous experience in personalised nutrition research and/or services would be an advantage.
- Understanding of relevant nutrition and health research as well as ICT issues for delivering data and knowledge to SMEs.
Additional Information
Salary on appointment will be within the range £39,150 to £47,850 per annum depending on qualifications and experience. This post is for an initial contract of 8 months with a possible further 12 months extension.

About the Quadram Institute
