Deputy Head of Food Databanks National Capability
[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is seeking a creative early-career or established researcher to develop and deliver scientific excellence and social and economic impact in food and health research within the Food Databanks National Capability (FDNC) at the [Employer hidden].
Salary: £48,600 - £59,400 per annum | Contract: Permanent | Location: Norwich, UK
Background
The [Employer hidden] is at the forefront of a new interface between food science, gut biology and health. FDNC manages data on the composition of foods eaten in the UK, supporting research, policy, and industry.
The Role
The role involves management of ongoing projects; preparation and leadership of funding proposals, scientific publications and reports; knowledge transfer and outreach activities. As Deputy Head of FDNC the post holder will be expected to undertake specialist roles and have Research Leader status within QIB.
Ideal Candidate
- Good biosciences degree, preferably a PhD
- Significant experience of developing a successful research team
- Impressive publication record
- Experience of achieving research funding in food, nutrition, and health
- Interest in commercialisation of research and delivering science to users
Additional Information
Salary on appointment will be within the range £48,000 to £59,400 per annum depending on qualifications and experience. This is an indefinite post. A relocation package is available. The post will require extensive UK and overseas travel.
