Commodity Buyer Mandarin / Cantonese - Mail Division

General Missions
The Commodity Buyer is responsible for managing relationships with suppliers from the project phases to the end of life for assigned commodities. This includes ensuring supplier performance meets company objectives in quality, cost, logistics, service, environmental compliance and CSR.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Strategic & Project-Level: Participate in defining purchasing strategy, implement strategy, maintain purchasing plan.
- Supplier Evaluation & Selection: Evaluate suppliers with Quality, Logistics, Process Engineering and other functions.
- Quotation, Negotiation & Contracting: Prepare RFQs, participate in technical discussions, define terms and conditions, resolve pricing issues.
- Prototype & Development Support: Manage RFQs for prototype parts, monitor supplier development progress.
- Supplier Performance Management: Follow up during serial production, support escalations, lead cost portion of reviews.
- Change & Process Management: Represent Purchasing in ECR/ECO process.
- Compliance & Corporate Responsibilities: Promote environmental and CSR policies, adhere to Code of Ethics.
Your Profile
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (supply chain, engineering).
- Experience: At least 5 years in a similar position.
- Technical Skills: Purchasing (negotiation, market knowledge, cost management, risk assessment), logistics knowledge, good overall technical knowledge (machines assembly, mechanical parts).
- Personal Skills: Good communication in international environment, open minded, strong leadership, rigorous, autonomous.
- Language Skills: English, Mandarin and Cantonese: fluent.
