Job Description
Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Scientist to join the Laboratory of Naiara Beraza in the Gut Health and Food Safety Programme at the [Employer hidden] (QIB). The project focuses on defining the role of key metabolic regulators in controlling intestinal function and microbiome composition and how this impacts on liver physiology. The successful candidate will use experimental models, molecular biology techniques, high-throughput methodologies, and immune-cell characterisation to study intestinal-liver communication.
Requirements
- PhD in biology, biochemistry or microbiology (or equivalent).
- Knowledge of diverse molecular and cell biology methodologies.
- Data analysis skills.
- Experience with histological and immunohistochemical analysis of gut and liver tissue samples using light and fluorescence microscopy.
- Ability to work independently and lead a project.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Willingness to work in a team and with collaborators.
