About the Role

At the heart of a unique plant-food-health science cluster in Norwich, UK, the [Employer hidden] (QIB) will be an International hub to provide a step-change in interdisciplinary food and health research. It will be housed in a new state-of-the-art building at the Norwich Research Park, due for completion later this year. It will be home to one of Europe’s largest endoscopy facilities enabling clinicians to work directly with scientists from fundamental research to translational outcomes. QI will host research groups working across four research themes: gut microbes and health; food innovation and health; microbes in the food chain and population health. This is an exciting time to be at the forefront of a new era of food and health research and contribute to the development of a new cutting-edge interdisciplinary research organisation.

Recognising the strategic opportunities and challenges, the Board is looking to appoint two Trustee Directors with substantial senior level experience in a relevant scientific, business or management setting. Applicants should have the ability to contribute to strategic thinking and development. Prior experience as a Trustee Director or Non-Executive Director would be advantageous but not essential. Trustees will be expected to contribute to the leadership of the Board above and beyond their core areas of expertise and have a passion for QlB’s mission. Successful candidates must be able to make a commitment of approximately ten days per annum to prepare for and attend meetings in Norwich. The positions, which are voluntary, are normally for a period of three years, with a possibility of renewal. Expenses will be reimbursed.
