FULL DESCRIPTION
Payroll Officer
[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] Ltd are looking for a Payroll Officer to join the finance team, with responsibility for effectively and efficiently processing both the weekly, monthly and Guild payrolls. This is a part time role, 4 days per week, Monday to Thursday.
Duties
- Responsible for processing the weekly payroll from the wages schedules, ensuring data is correct.
- Responsible for ensuring payments for Guild Personnel are processed for prompt payment extracting data from the wages schedules.
- Processing the monthly payroll within agreed deadlines.
- Processing mileage and expenses claims for salaried staff obtaining authorisation where necessary.
- Liaison with HR to ensure all personal information is integrated with QUEST payroll for accurate processing.
- Responsible for resolving discrepancies with the depot administrators/individual employees.
- Monitoring of clock in and clock out times of office based personnel; identification of lateness and or insufficient hours worked to be reported to line managers.
- Posting payroll journals for each payment run with primary responsibility for the reconciliation of the payroll control accounts
- Responsible for ensuring Real Time Information reports are made in accordance with HMRC deadlines.
- Ensuring the calculations for salary/wage deductions are made accurately and that payments to third parties are made in a timely manner.
- Responsible for ensuring electronic bank payroll runs are executed in a timely manner.
- Auto enrolment pension
- Processing P60’s and P11D’s
- Liaison with HR to ensure all absence and annual leave data is accurate and integrated for payroll processing
- Liaison with HR to ensure all payroll changes have been implemented and integrated for payroll processing
- Calculation of employees’ entitlement to SSP, SMP and SPP.
- Dealing with routine payroll queries from staff.
Required Skills & Knowledge
- Extensive payroll knowledge
- Experience of computerised payroll systems, ideally CASCADE
- Confident with computerised payroll systems and excel to undertake analysis of data
- Attention to detail
- Tenacious in approach and confident to challenge
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure
- Well organised with a flexible and adaptable approach
- Respectful of the need for complete confidentiality
