FULL DESCRIPTION

Senior Management Accountant

East London (E15), E15 3ND — Up to £55,000 per annum — [Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] Ltd — Permanent

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce consolidated management accounts, including reviewing the work of the management accountant, posting journals, and undertaking balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Maintain the fixed asset register in Syrinx and reconcile to Sage200.
  • Produce monthly borrowing base certificates for RBS.
  • Produce quarterly VAT returns for all group companies.
  • Lead the interim and main statutory audit, acting as first point of contact with auditors and producing full sets of individual and consolidated statutory accounts.
  • Lead the bi‑annual RBS asset based lending audit.
  • Participate in the group budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Maintain Sage 200 Nominal Ledger and manage opening/closing of accounting periods in all Sage 200 ledgers (Sales, Cash Book, Purchase and Nominal).
  • Actively improve systems and procedures, automating tasks where possible.
  • Keep abreast of technical updates to FRS102 and update company accounting policies.
  • Coach and mentor junior members of the team.
  • Undertake other ad‑hoc tasks as required.

Necessary Skills, Experience & Training

  • Must be a fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with 3+ years post‑qualified experience and recent hands‑on management accounts involvement.
  • Good communication skills with polite but assertive manner and willingness to take responsibility for solving problems.
  • Diligent with high attention to detail.
  • Experience in preparing consolidated management and year‑end accounts; clear appreciation of management information for decision‑making.
  • Highly motivated, able to deliver broad task specification to target with minimum supervision.
  • Computer literate, proficient with Microsoft Office (especially advanced Excel), knowledge of purchase order processing and purchase ledger systems.
  • Essential: Several years in business/finance environment; outstanding maths; honesty; reliability; analytical skills; understanding of data privacy standards.
  • Desirable: Sage 200 Accounts, Syrinx Hire Management System, asset based lending, previous experience in an owner‑managed business.
