Head of Foundation

[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is seeking a Head of Foundation to lead its charitable operations. The role is based in Swansea (SA1) and is full-time (40 hours per week) with flexible hours including match days.

About the Foundation

[Employer hidden] is the charitable arm of Swansea City AFC, working to inspire and engage people in South West Wales. Supported by Premier League Charitable Fund grants, the foundation focuses on building prosperity, developing resilience, improving health, and supporting inclusivity.

Purpose of Role

The Head of Foundation will lead the charity in achieving strategic goals, working closely with the Board of Trustees to develop and deliver the foundation's strategy, enhance its reputation, and ensure financial sustainability.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Compliance: Implement strategy, develop governance structures, lead the Senior Management Team, ensure safeguarding and EDI.
  • Revenue: Raise profile, diversify income, establish new partnerships, communicate with partners.
  • People Management: Coach and mentor staff, oversee performance management and annual budgeting.
  • Community Focus: Embed impact and insight procedures, provide reports to the Board.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Extensive experience in developing a successful organisation
  • Evidenced commercial acumen and track record of diverse income streams
  • Understanding of charitable organisations in the sporting sector
  • Senior leadership with strategic responsibility for high-value partnerships
  • Passionate commitment to improving lives of local people
  • Financial acumen including budgeting and strategic finance
  • Experience leading diverse teams, shaping culture
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building
  • High professional standards, ethics, integrity
  • Knowledge of Safeguarding and EDI best practice
  • Resilience and ability to handle adversity

Desirable

  • Experience of charity governance and senior level charity management
  • Experience in a football environment
  • Experience as a Director / CEO
