PR Specialist

[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is seeking a PR Specialist to drive awareness and excitement for its video game titles, focusing on the launch of Alien Deathstorm. Hybrid working in Oxford, UK. Full-time, mid-senior level role.

For 30 years we’ve been independently developing and publishing incredible video games at our multiple studios founded by Jason & Chris Kingsley, but [Employer hidden] is more than just games. We have our own film studio, we create board games, publish books, and through 2000AD, publish comics and graphic novels such as the amazing Judge Dredd.

We are on the lookout for a PR Specialist to play a vital role in driving awareness and excitement for [Employer hidden]’s video game titles, with a particular focus on the launch of our brand‑new IP, Alien Deathstorm, across specialist press and media.

Working within our Marketing department, the successful candidate will develop and execute the PR strategy for [Employer hidden]’s games and corporate activities, with a focus on Alien Deathstorm as well as several unannounced projects.

This role is based at our riverside headquarters in Oxford, offering a creative and relaxed atmosphere where teamwork drives our success. We can provide a relocation package, including moving assistance, temporary accommodation, and full support to ensure a smooth transition to your new environment.

We believe in the power of face-to-face collaboration and encourage working from our Oxford headquarters. However, we understand that flexibility matters, so we’re open to discussing hybrid options based on individual needs.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage [Employer hidden]'s communications strategy to generate brand awareness and growth in alignment with company strategic direction and goals.
  • Update and deliver various marketing and development information through owned media as well as via external PR agencies and automated systems.
  • Manage relationships with all external PR partners, including agencies, distribution partner PR teams and [Employer hidden]’s existing contact database.
  • Develop regular interface with other PR practitioners in wider [Employer hidden] business, such as Film/TV, Unplugged & Publishing.
  • Continuously look for ways to positively engage and grow [Employer hidden]’s public profile via specialist and lifestyle press activations.
  • Create and manage processes to track and keep monitored each communication activation making sure our qualitative and quantitative objectives are always properly met.
  • Forge strong and trusted relationships with key press and media within [Employer hidden]’s gaming genres and wider to encourage friendly, constructive interactions.
  • Work alongside Product Marketing and Community to ensure PR & Communications initiatives are primed, timed and apt to our audiences.

Requirements

  • Excellent knowledge of current games press and trends.
  • Agency management.
  • PR administration and excellent written communication skills.
  • Previous PR experience in the games industry.
  • Tactics to build positive stories and activations with games press.
  • Budget management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Can manage time and work under pressure to tight deadlines at all levels.
