Location: Newbridge, Edinburgh (EH28 8TP)

Salary: £12.98 per hour

Hours: 25 hours/week, 10:00-15:00, Monday to Friday

Contract: Fixed Term, 10 months

About The Role

The role of Administration Assistant involves supporting the depot team by managing branch administration tasks and ensuring exceptional customer service. Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, you will handle daily and weekly duties, including inputting orders and contracts into the computer system, completing company paperwork accurately, and processing route clear-downs. Key responsibilities also include liaising with staff and customers, building effective relationships with the Sales, Transport, and Warehouse teams, and maintaining proactive communication with SCOs. Prompt responses to email and phone requests are also essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work as a member of the depot team, undertaking delegated tasks and responsibilities in line with service needs and operational requirements.
  • Liaise swiftly and effectively with other staff members and customers to meet customer requirements
  • Input incoming orders and contracts into the relevant computer system
  • Complete company paperwork accurately and promptly in line with company procedures and process route clear-downs efficiently
  • Build effective and close working relationships with the Sales, Transport, and Warehouse teams
  • Ensure proactive communication with SCOs throughout the working day
  • Respond promptly to email and phone requests

About You

  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Ability to apply the principles of customer care
  • Highly competent in standard software packages and willing to learn new ones
  • Ability to prioritise your own workload
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment
  • Ability to work under pressure, showing flexibility when required
