Lead Guitarist

Salary: £21,000 per annum

Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week (including evenings and weekends)

Contract Type: Permanent

The Role

We are seeking a skilled and committed Lead Guitarist to support our worship ministry through regular performance and rehearsal participation. The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of contemporary worship music in live congregational settings and work collaboratively within the church’s music team.

This is a full-time employed position requiring reliability, musical competence, and a collaborative approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide lead guitar performance at weekly services and church events
  • Support the arrangement and preparation of music for live worship settings
  • Participate in rehearsals and contribute to maintaining musical standards
  • Work collaboratively with worship leaders and musicians
  • Maintain musical equipment and ensure readiness for services and events
  • Participate in occasional outreach and community events as required

Essential Criteria

  • Demonstrable experience performing guitar in live band settings
  • Proficiency in contemporary worship, gospel, or related genres
  • Ability to work as part of a structured music team
  • Good timing, improvisation, and ensemble skills
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work evenings and weekends
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience within church or community music settings
  • Basic music arrangement skills
  • Recording experience
