Our Commercial Development team plays a key role in building meaningful relationships and creating engaging opportunities that connect supporters with the work of [Employer hidden]. Working closely with senior stakeholders and the Head of Commercial Development, you’ll lead the delivery of a high‑profile programme of development‑led events, private views and exclusive visits that support fundraising and stewardship objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and delivery of [Employer hidden]’s development led events programme, including private views, bespoke tours and supporter events, ensuring exceptional standards are delivered.
  • Line manage the Development Events team, providing leadership, direction and support to build a high‑performing and collaborative culture.
  • Translate the Commercial Development strategy into a compelling events programme that supports fundraising, stewardship and income generation objectives.
  • Act as senior operational lead on events, overseeing end-to-end delivery, guest experience, logistics and on‑site management.
  • Build strong working relationships across the wider organisation (such as Visitor Operations, Security, Finance teams) as well as with external partners to ensure seamless delivery.
  • Manage event budgets, income and expenditure, ensuring accuracy, value for money and effective reporting.
  • Lead post-event evaluation and reporting, using insights to continuously improve performance and supporter engagement.
  • Represent [Employer hidden] with confidence and authority, acting as an ambassador and champion for its charitable vision and aims.

About you

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience delivering high quality, high profile events in a development, fundraising, cultural, heritage or hospitality environment.
  • Experience of providing clear operational leadership in a busy, fast-paced environment with proven ability to manage complex events with multiple stakeholders, priorities and timescales.
  • Strong project management skills, with excellent organisational ability and attention to detail.
  • With an analytical yet responsive approach and sensitivity to reputational risk, the ability to make sound judgement when leading the team and operations.
  • Confident and persuasive communicator, able to brief senior stakeholders and build trusted relationships with supporters and partners.
  • Commercially aware, with a clear understanding of income generation and stewardship through events.
  • Experience of people management, and development of others to foster a positive, supportive culture.
