Clinical Fellow In CCLI

[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is seeking a Clinical Fellow in CCLI. Based in Cambridge, this full-time, fixed-term post offers a salary of £73,992 per year. Applications welcome from those requiring visa sponsorship.

Job Summary

Applications are invited for a 12-month Clinical Fellowship post within the Cambridge Centre for Lung Infection, which comprises the Adult Cystic Fibrosis Centre, The Lung Defence Clinic and The Respiratory Immunology Clinic at Royal Papworth Hospital. The post is open to internal medicine trainees or specialist trainees in respiratory medicine (or following completion of a Respiratory Medicine training programme) and is ideal for respiratory trainees with an interest in bronchiectasis, lung infections (including fungal and non-tuberculous mycobacterial pulmonary disease), adult cystic fibrosis medicine and respiratory immunology.

Main Duties, Tasks & Skills Required

  • Gain knowledge and experience in management of patients with difficult lung infections, cystic fibrosis and immune deficiency.
  • Participate in work-up and investigation of newly referred patients; develop management plans for fungal, non-tuberculous and complex bacterial lung infections through specialist clinics.
  • Provide inpatient care as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Participate in joint respiratory-immunology clinic and immunology MDT.
  • Present and participate in CF and radiology/microbiology MDT discussions.
  • Engage in clinical research and quality improvement activities.
  • Provide continuity of care and cross cover of SpR duties.
  • Opportunity to participate in on-call rota for Respiratory services or Hospital-at-night team.

Person Specification

Qualifications (Essential)

  • MBBS or equivalent
  • MRCP
  • Attendance at relevant courses

Experience (Essential)

  • Experience/training in internal medicine
  • Critical and enquiring approach to knowledge acquisition
  • Understanding of audit, research and evidence-based practice
  • Capacity to operate under pressure
  • Effective teamwork and leadership
  • Current GMC registration
  • Good clinical skills and communication

Desirable

  • Participating in or completed specialist respiratory medicine training
  • Evidence of interest in respiratory medicine, especially lung infection
  • Academic achievements (degrees, prizes, publications)
  • Participation in audit and teaching
