London Manager - Stage Management (1664)
The [Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] Company is seeking an experienced Manager to take overall responsibility for the provision of Stage Management in London. This full‑time, permanent role is based in London at the Clapham Rehearsal Rooms. Salary: £50,000 per annum plus benefits.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruiting freelance Company Managers, Company Stage Managers, Stage Managers, Deputy Stage Managers, Assistant Stage Managers and Chaperones to build high performing, inclusive teams.
- Leading contracting, onboarding and induction processes for all freelance Stage Management colleagues.
- Line managing the London Operations team who run the Clapham Rehearsal Rooms.
- Line managing freelance Company Managers or Company Stage Managers whilst in London (who in turn manage the wider Stage Management teams working on each production).
- Ensuring smooth rehearsal, performance and production support in London, including close collaboration with cross departmental colleagues and the Stratford Manager, Stage Management.
- Ensuring Clapham Rehearsal Rooms are run effectively and support and enhance the creative experience of artists working at the RSC.
- Managing key administrative systems, budgets, records, archiving and database oversight.
- Developing networks and wellbeing structures that support and enhance the freelance experience.
Essential Requirements
- Professional experience in Stage Management and/or Company Management.
- Working knowledge of UK Theatre/Equity agreements.
- Demonstrable experience recruiting and supporting stage management teams.
- Strong administrative, planning and organisational skills in a fast-paced artistic environment.
- Experience leading and line managing colleagues.
- Evidence of working with budgets and financial processes.
Additional Information
You will be working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, although occasional weekend and evening work may be required depending on rehearsal and production schedules. Some flexible working may be possible in line with departmental needs.
