Lead Radio Mic Technician (Fixed Term Contract) (1755)

[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] Company is looking for a Lead Radio Mic Technician to play a key role in delivering world class theatre by supporting Sound Designers and Composers throughout the production process with Radio Mic placement and maintenance. Working on Game of Thrones: The Mad King you will take the lead for the Radio Mic Plots, working calmly and collaboratively with technical departments, Sound designers and creatives to ensure that sound elements are delivered safely and repetitively with programming and plotting in line with RSC procedures. Reporting to the Head of Sound.

Salary: £45,004.96 pro-rata for duration of contract

Contract: Full-time, fixed-term (29 June 2026 – 6 September 2026)

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting Sound Designers in realising their creative vision, using knowledge of RSC resources.
  • Providing Stage Sound Support for the use of the Comms system; Reidel and Semi-Duplex Motorola Comms System.
  • Fitting hairline microphones & managing the radio mic plot
  • Creating and learning a Radio Running Plot and performing any cues during the show.
  • Monitoring the condition and sound quality of the radio mics.
  • Fault finding, repairing and maintenance of sound equipment
  • Complying with health and safety at all times.

Essential Requirements

  • Working knowledge and understanding of sound, communications radio microphone placement and maintenance and sound-related disciplines in the theatre environment.
  • Confidence and familiarity with Radio Mic software Wireless workbench
  • Awareness of d&b Soundscape, OSC and related software.
  • A comprehensive understanding of Health and Safety legislation and practices.
  • Effective team skills with clear communication and decision making.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively.
