Job overview
We have an exciting position for an Obstetrics and Gynaecology doctor, ideally at ST5 level or above as a fixed term 12 month post with the possibility of extension for a further year if mutually agreed. You will be working alongside our specialist teams within the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Service. This post is suitable to a number of candidates with interests in, for example, advanced minimal access and robotic surgery, uro-gynaecology, maternal or fetal medicine.
Main duties of the job
The exact detail of the timetable of the post will depend on the special interest of the post holder, however successful post holder would have an opportunity to work across the breadth of the Obstetrics and Gynaecology service. You will carry out all duties allocated by the Consultants within that team.

Qualifications & Experience & Achievements
Essential criteria
- Full Registration with GMC
- Able to contribute to the full range of skills required for the middle grade on call rota for the specialty with experience of working at registrar / tier 2 level
- High standard of clinical skill and expertise in the specialty
- Minimum 12 months experience working as a doctor in NHS at time of post commencing
Desirable criteria
- MD or equivalent higher degree or evidence of relevant research
- Other evidence of academic achievements
- Successfully completed MRCOG Part 3
Management and Administrative Experience
Essential criteria
- Evidence of participation in audit in the past 12 months
Desirable criteria
- Information Technology Skills
- Understanding NHS Clinical Governance and resource constraints
- Ability to present an evidence based approach to patient care
- Familiarity within issues of service organisation and development
- Ability to contribute to change management
Teaching Experience
Essential criteria
- Ability to teach clinical skills
Desirable criteria
- Experience of teaching basic clinical skills to undergraduates/ post graduates
- Experience of supervising junior doctors

- Communication and language skills (ability to communicate with clarity in written and spoken English) with users / families / colleagues
