Purpose
In RSSL we are customer focused, science led, and results driven. The Operations Lab Support (OLS) department is responsible for the administration of all samples arriving at RSSL, across all our sites, along with providing laboratory support.
Primary Accountabilities / Responsibilities
- Ensure samples are logged into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) accurately and timely.
- Assist in sub aliquoting of samples for internal/external customers.
- Perform routine checks and calibrations within laboratories.
- Manage inventory of samples, reagents and consumables.
- Perform lab administration, glasswashing and housekeeping duties.
- Manage disposal and archiving processes.
- Be competent in use of LIMS and Q-Pulse.
- Work in different laboratories and sites as required.
Communication & Influence
- Work as part of an efficient team to identify process improvements.
- Liaise with clients, commercial, site admin teams and management.
- Liaise with internal/external customers to ensure LIMS accuracy and customer satisfaction.
QEHS
- Work to highest safety and quality standards (COSHHs, risk assessments, SOPs).
- Control client documentation.
- Complete assigned quality actions.
- Maintain clean, tidy, safe working environment.
- Understand GMP, UKAS and Home Office regulations.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Language Requirements
- Educated to A-level / HNC level or equivalent industry experience.
- Good understanding of basic lab equipment (preferred).
- Accountable, honest, hardworking, team player.
- Flexible and adaptable.
- Meticulous attention to detail and ability to follow written instructions.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic, quick learner.
- Well organized, capable of multitasking.
- Computer literate in MS Office.
- Experience in an administrative role.
- Experience in a regulated environment.
- English fluency (written and spoken).
