DDI Architect - Sheffield
Location: Sheffield | Contract | £420-500 per day | Inside IR35
Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled DDI (DNS, DHCP & IPAM) Subject Matter Expert to join our growing infrastructure team within a leading financial services organisation. This role is critical to the design, delivery, and ongoing optimisation of core network services that underpin business-critical platforms.
You will play a key role in modernising and scaling DDI infrastructure, ensuring resilience, performance, and security across a complex, global environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Projects: Lead the planning, implementation, and support of large-scale DDI infrastructure projects, including hardware (servers, appliances) and software upgrades, migrations, and transformations.
- Design & Deployment: Architect, design, and deploy scalable DDI solutions (DNS, DHCP, IPAM) across new and existing environments, ensuring services are robust, consumable, and aligned with business needs.
- Risk Management: Perform risk assessments and proactively manage potential challenges, with a strong understanding of downstream service and user impacts.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate effectively with global teams across multiple time zones, providing clear communication to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Project Delivery: Apply industry-standard project management methodologies to plan, document, and deliver infrastructure initiatives within defined governance frameworks.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven expertise in enterprise-scale DDI environments
- Hands-on experience with: Cygna VitalQIP, EfficientIP, Infoblox, F5 BIG-IP DNS, AMS & AMM platforms
- Strong understanding of network protocols including TCP/IP, UDP, and DNS
- Demonstrated experience delivering complex infrastructure upgrades and migrations
- Excellent communication skills with fluency in English
Desirable Skills
- Experience with automation and scripting (e.g. Shell, Python, Ansible, JavaScript, VBA)
- Familiarity with APIs, JSON, and systems integration
- Experience working in Agile environments, including participation in ceremonies
- Working knowledge of tools such as JIRA
