Advanced Process Control Expert

Location: London | Salary: £500-£540 a day | Contract (10 months) | On-site

Role Overview

[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is seeking an experienced Advanced Process Control (APC) Expert to support manufacturing clients across Europe. This role focuses on delivering high-quality APC solutions, improving process efficiency, and ensuring optimal plant performance through advanced modeling and control strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather and analyse client requirements to understand process control objectives for APC implementation
  • Design, develop, and implement APC models tailored to manufacturing processes
  • Integrate APC solutions with existing DCS/PLC systems and configure controllers accordingly
  • Perform data analysis using historian data to identify optimization opportunities
  • Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, stability, and performance
  • Prepare detailed technical reports documenting methodologies, findings, and results
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with clients and internal project teams
  • Support ongoing optimization and troubleshooting of control systems

Mandatory Skills & Experience

  • Strong expertise in process control and APC model development
  • Proven experience with DCS integration and controller configuration
  • Solid background in data analysis and process optimization
  • Experience working with industrial historian data systems
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear documentation and communication

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial process environments
  • Familiarity with PLC systems and control system architectures
  • Strong stakeholder management and client-facing communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and across geographically distributed teams
